"Rubber-Necking" -- Detail from The
Connection
by Windi Scott, Stony Plain
Stony Plain got its telephone office shortly after Alberta
Government Telephones was established in 1906. Many phone
customers were on a single party line, allowing nosey neighbours
to eavesdrop for entertainment, and no doubt to generate much
gossip. (Click here to see other parts
of this mural).
